Topcon and GreenValley join forces to advance Lidar and spatial intelligence

  • Rating12345

A strategic agreement between Topcon Positioning Systems and GreenValley International will drive next-generation technologies across surveying, mapping, construction, forestry and other spatial intelligence applications. The partnership is set to deliver integrated hardware and software solutions for handheld, aerial and mobile Lidar data collection and processing – with plans to expand into robotic systems, autonomous monitoring, and real-time cloud-based data processing and transfer.

“Collaborating with GreenValley allows us to combine the strengths of both organizations and deliver simpler, more efficient workflows to more professionals,” said Ron Oberlander, head of the Topcon Geomatics and Construction Platforms. “By advancing joint research and integrating emerging AI technologies into spatial solutions, we aim to help users collect, process and apply data more effectively, even in remote and challenging environments.”

“This alliance unites GreenValley’s spatial intelligence expertise with Topcon’s precise positioning technologies to deliver next-generation solutions for the global geospatial community,” said Cody McColl, North American operations manager with GreenValley International. “Together, we are focused on developing AI-enhanced point cloud processing, including automated feature extraction and classification, multi-sensor integration and intelligent workflow automation to help users collect, process and maximize the value of geospatial data.”

The partnership aligns closely with Topcon’s broader push to reassert itself in the geospatial sector. The company recently established a dedicated geomatics business unit and has been investing heavily in AI, cloud connectivity and data unification. As CEO Ivan Di Federico explained in a recent interview with GIM International, the company’s focus is centered on mass data capture, reconstructing reality and building digital twins to enable smart infrastructure. The GreenValley collaboration reflects that same direction, extending Topcon’s Lidar and spatial intelligence capabilities across handheld, aerial, mobile and robotic platforms.
