PCI Geomatica software will allow users to rapidly and easily pre-process large volumes of satellite imagery, which is used within many geologic applications and hence allow them to perform meaningful multi-temporal analysis.
The agreement will not only give qualifying GRSG Student Members free access to the software, but PCI Geomatics has also agreed to provide access to their extensive library of training materials which includes tutorial videos, online Udemy courses and demonstration data.
GRSG Chairman, Charlotte Bishop explained more about why the Group had come to this agreement and what is means for members; “As technology becomes ever more important in our daily lives the ability to use and understand a wide range of software and tools as part of education is of great current and also future value to Students as they prepare to embark on their careers in the industry. We therefore feel it is a great asset to provide access to one of the leading image processing suites to our student members as a new benefit to our growing membership base.”
Commenting on behalf of PCI Geomatics, Territory Manager for Europe Stewart Wyseman said; “Ensuring students have access to advanced professional tools is of key importance to their successful development as they prepare to enter the workforce. PCI Geomatics is committed to student success and has supported remote sensing students around the World through several initiatives similar to this agreement. By using professional software, they become more marketable to prospective employers. Furthermore, they can focus on their project work as opposed to experience frustration through the use of alternative software packages.”
