A senior U.S. senator came out swinging Wednesday in favour of TransCanada’s Keystone XL oilsands pipeline, telling Americans that rejection of the project would be “the biggest energy policy blunder in our history.” Senator Lindsey Graham, a South Carolina Republican, warned that a decision by President Barack Obama to deny a permit for the pipeline would cost the U.S. thousands of jobs and immediately turn Keystone XL into a “defining issue” in the 2012 presidential election.
