The II International conference “Geoinformation Sciences and Environmental Development: New Approaches, Methods, Technologies” will take place on 5-9 May, 2014 in Limassol, Cyprus. Organizers of the Conference are the Southern Scientific Center (Rostov-on-Don, Russia)of the Institute of Arid Zones of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Oceanography Center, University of Cyprus, Nicosia, Cyprus, UNIGEO Consortium, Russia and R&D Center SCANEX, Russia.
The Conference will present new results on the prevention and prediction of emergency, development and application of information technologies and mathematical modeling for a comprehensive study of marine and terrestrial ecosystems, new methods and areas of application of remote sensing data in the geosciences.
The main aim of the conference is to bring together researchers from different disciplines, including ecology and environmental management, information technology, ecological modelling. The conference organizers will be happy to provide a platform for interdisciplinary discussions on the announced main topics of the Conference:
1. Technologies for early detection and prediction of natural and technogenic extreme events.
2. Biodiversity and marine environmental management.
3. The methods of the complex geomodeling of natural and anthropogenically transformed geosystems.
4. New technologies and approaches to work with remote sensing data.
R&D Center SCANEX will organize the workshops:
1. «Application of multiseasonal space images for more accurate description of the forest plant communities».
2. «Modern approaches of using the textural features for interpretation of natural ecosystems, geological structure of the territory and emergencies factors».
UNIGEO Meeting:
One workshop will be organized by the Consortium UNIGEO, which is the union of the intellectual resources of universities and the advanced technologies in the field of remote sensing – for the development of education, science and practice.
All Conference events will be held on the basis of the Elias Beach Hotel 4*. Booking of the hotel can be done through the Organizing Committee.
