Orbital Insight and e-GEOS Offer Disaster Relief Services to the U.S. Government

  • Rating12345

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., – Orbital Insight, the leader in geospatial analytics, today announced an exclusive agreement to bundle its products with the Emergency Flood Mapping Services of e-GEOS (ASI/Telespazio) for the U.S. government. This partnership provides government customers with a timely understanding of both full flood extent, extracted from Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) satellite data, and the magnitude of the impact, based on multiple data inputs including hydraulic modeling, field observations and social media.

“The e-GEOS Emergency Flood Mapping Services provides a quick understanding of the extent of flooding anywhere in the world,” said A.J. DeRosa, Orbital Insight’s Executive Vice President and Head of Global Sales. “The U.S. government relies on multiple information sources during a natural disaster. This partnership, combined with our core capabilities in geospatial analytics, enables immediate, multi-sensor intelligence to better serve first responders, disaster risk management and humanitarian relief efforts.”

“Our partnership with Orbital Insight is rapidly accelerating, and already includes the use of COSMO-SkyMed radar data as a premium data source for Orbital Insight’s algorithms, as well as social media data, which is automatically extracted by our cloud platforms,” said Massimo Claudio Comparini, CEO of e-GEOS. “Now we are creating a joint service for emergency response, as e-GEOS is a global leader in emergency response mapping. Orbital Insight can contribute powerful analytics to add value to our maps for natural and man-made disaster management.”
