Optech Presenting Gyro-Stabilization, New LMS Features, and More at ASPRS 2014

  • Rating12345

Optech, the world leader in the development, manufacture and support of high-accuracy lidar 3D survey systems and productivity-enhancing workflow software, is pleased to announce that it will have a strong presence at the American Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ASPRS) 2014 Annual Conference in Louisville, KY, on March 23-27. Visitors can benefit from a paper on surveying with gyro-stabilized mounts, get hands-on workflow productivity enhancement experience at the Optech LMS workshop, and see the latest hardware at Optech Booth 308 in the Exhibit Hall.

You are invited to learn about Optech multi-sensor airborne systems by attending System Product Manager Jason Oldham’s presentation, “Advantages of Gyro-Stabilization on Multi-Sensor Platforms”, during the 1:30-3:00 pm Technical Session on March 25. Jason will explore the benefits of using gyro-stabilized mounts with multi-sensor platforms to create accurate and uniform co-registered datasets, and present a case study comparing surveys performed with and without gyro-stabilization, showing how it affects the lidar data and camera imagery.

Attendees are also invited to participate in the Optech LMS Lidar Mapping Suite workshop at 11:15-1:00 pm on March 26 to pick up best practices for processing and qualifying lidar data, focusing on consistently producing accurate outputs from airborne and mobile sensors with the same workflow. Participants will also explore the significant new features of Optech LMS 2.4.1, including accuracy and density quality control, a 3D shapefile viewer, and control-point reporting.

Finally, attendees can visit Booth 308 in the Exhibit Hall to see Optech’s latest products and discuss with Optech staff which combination of sensors would best suit their specific applications.
