These appointments represent OpenGeo’s continued investment and confidence in its product, mission, and employees.

When making the announcement OpenGeo President Chris Holmes noted, “These changes formalize the structure that OpenGeo has been working towards to manage our rapid growth effectively. Ken Bossung joined OpenGeo in 2010 as Senior Vice President of Sales. Bossung is a former founder and partner of IONIC Enterprise, where he defined and led strategic sales and business development activities for the OGC web services pioneer. After IONIC’s acquisition by software leader ERDAS Inc. in 2007, Bossung led commercial sales in Canada, the US, and Latin America, and oversaw both the ERDAS partner network and its direct sales force.

Alyssa Wright has been with OpenGeo since 2009 when she was first hired as Outreach Engineer. In her new role as Vice President of Product & Project Management, Wright will manage Product Management for the OpenGeo Suite, GeoNode, the Global Support Team, and Project Management. She has played a primary role in running the OpenGeo product team and setting up the global support staff for OpenGeo clients.

Eddie Pickle has been named Chief Operating Officer (COO). Pickle was hired by OpenGeo in 2009 as Senior Vice President of Business Development. While in that role he guided OpenGeo’s internal expansion fueled by record growth in the number of new clients, partnerships and business initiatives. He formerly served as Chief Operating Officer of IONIC Enterprise, an industry leader in developing OGC standards-based software and introducing it to US markets. Previous to his time at IONIC, he served as Executive Vice President of Sales & Client Service at Claritas, now part of AC Nielsen, where he directed geospatial applications for enterprises worldwide. As COO, Pickle will support the OpenGeo divisions and managers, as well as enhance the organization’s existing structures for continued expansion.
