Living with Climate Change in Europe

Global warming is a fact. Climate change is happening and it is even accelerating. What we are seeing today are only the early signs of climate change and the result of past greenhouse gas emissions. Europe needs a wake-up call to prevent that climate change takes catastrophic dimensions later this century. On 29 June, the European Commission has therefore adopted its first policy document on adapting to the impacts of climate change. This Green Paper “adaptation to climate change in Europe – options for EU action”, builds upon the work and findings of the European Climate Change Programme.
