Russian school-workshop “Remote Sensing Data Application for Forest Resources Control” is to be take place on February 15-16 at the Perm State University, preceded by the opening of the Interregional Space Monitoring Center of the Perm Territory on February 14.
Application of space and geoinformation technologies in forestry will be discussed at the workshop on February 15-16. Laboratory Head of the RAS Institute of Forest Science, expert of ScanEx RDC Alexander Maslov will speak about the Federal Program of Remote Monitoring of Russian Forests. Director of the Provolzhye Branch of the State Forest Fund Inventory Nikolai Petukhov will analyze problems and perspectives of the system of forest resources monitoring in the Privolzhsky Federal District. Head of the Thematic Department of ScanEx RDC Sergei Mikhailov will share experience of RS data application for optimization of activities in forestry, whereas Yevgeny Vedernikov, OAO “Solikamskbumprom” Department Head, will elaborate on the creation of the corporate GIS “Forest Resources”.
