Intermap Technologies, a global leader in geospatial intelligence powered by proprietary 3D data and AI-driven analytics, has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire PCI Geomatics, known commercially as CATALYST. The deal, structured as an arrangement under the Canada Business Corporations Act, will see Intermap acquire all outstanding PCI shares not already in its possession, using US$11 million in cash to complete the transaction.
The acquisition brings together PCI’s satellite and aerial image processing technology, which includes more than 750 proprietary algorithms supporting imagery from over 500 satellites, with Intermap’s elevation data and AI analytics. Together, the companies aim to deliver automated, near real-time geospatial intelligence across commercial, government, and defense markets, spanning applications from infrastructure monitoring and insurance underwriting to defense positioning and navigation systems.
June McAlarey, PCI’s president and CEO, will stay on in her current role while also taking on the position of Intermap executive vice president, overseeing the commercial business. The deal has been unanimously approved by both companies’ boards, and Grenadier Investments Limited, a major PCI shareholder, along with PCI’s directors and officers, have agreed to vote their shares in favor.

For CATALYST customers, the company says little will change in the near term. It will continue operating as a standalone business with its existing team, while gradually integrating Intermap’s elevation models to enhance accuracy and expand capabilities.
