Intergraph Helps Milton Rural Landcare Improve Land Management

  • Rating12345

Milton Rural Landcare – a group of residents and landholders in Milton, Australia, that enhances the sustainability of farms in the region – has selected Intergraph®’s geospatial software to improve overall land management. The organization is using Intergraph’s GeoMedia® for the tracking and management of existing infrastructure and natural resources, as well as for securing enhanced funding from local government agencies.

“Through this new system from Intergraph, we can provide a broader and more detailed perspective on various land management project sites,” said Malcolm Whan, President of Milton Rural Landcare. “Geospatial solutions are the foundation for our organization to improve our overall effectiveness, as well as justify critical funding. We’re excited to use a solution that is easy to use and supports our overall mission and goals.”

Prior to using GeoMedia, Milton Rural Landcare relied on dated mapping data with cumbersome, disjointed and difficult geospatial products not geared toward non-GIS users. GeoMedia is a powerful GIS management package that enables you to realize the maximum value of your geospatial resources, integrating them to present clear, actionable information. It provides simultaneous access to geospatial data in almost any form, uniting them in a single map view for efficient processing, analysis, presentation and sharing.

In the next phase, Milton Rural Landcare will be able to better communicate findings with local agencies, its membership and with governmental authorities through the use of GeoMedia WebMap, which provides a highly useable means for integrating local data and services with popular web browsers. GeoMedia WebMap is a fully scalable server solution for building and deploying web services and websites. Using GeoMedia desktop as a publishing platform, you can easily create high-performance web applications enabling real-time enterprise access and geospatial analysis.

“The use of our solutions by Milton Rural Landcare is a prime example of how the right geospatial offerings can improve performance and enhance decision-making,” said Mladen Stojic, Vice President of Geospatial at Intergraph’s Security, Government & Infrastructure (SG&I) division. “We’re proud our GeoMedia products are helping Milton Rural Landcare improve farming sustainability in the region.”
