IBGE methodology in Paraná State to Update Map

The Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) in other states may adopt a methodology developed by the pioneer project “Geographical Names of Parana, which will update the identification of rivers, mountains, roads and villages in Paraná maps. Concern was expressed during a meeting held in Curitiba between representatives of the IBGE of Florianopolis and Rio de Janeiro with the project coordinators, Izabella Swierczynski, geographer of the Department of Planning and General Coordination, and Gislene Lessa, the Institute of Lands, Mapping and Geosciences (ITCG). The President of the IBGE of Parana, Sinval Dias dos Santos, also attended the meeting. Read More
