Harris Atlas Systems to Launch in the Middle East

International communications and information technology company Harris Corporation and leading Middle East telecommunication systems and security provider Atlas Telecom, have today announced the launch of a new joint venture. The company, to be known as Harris Atlas, will deliver innovative intelligence solutions such as enhanced video management and geospatial 3D visualization specifically designed for the UAE. An Mou on that regard was signed by Sheikh Nahayan Mabarak Al Nahayan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, that provides for introducing systems for supporting best practices, improving acadenmic standards and evaluating students’ performance.The partnership was officially announced at a press conference at Harris Atlas’ new headquarters in Abu Dhabi this morning by Harris CEO Howard Lance, and Atlas CEO, Ahmed Seddiq Al Mutuwaa. While Atlas Telecom has a long-standing presence in the Middle East, having been established in the UAE in 1983, and Harris has delivered broadcast and RF communications products into the region in partnership with Atlas and others for more than 20 years, the venture marks Harris’ and Atlas’ official entrance into the region to focus on the delivery of large–scale, mission-critical intelligence systems.
