GI_Forum 2011: Final Call for Papers

The Geoinformatics Forum Salzburg (GI_Forum) is scheduled for July 5-8, 2011, at the University of Salzburg, Austria.

Audience. GI_Forum focuses on an international audience that shares an interest in GIScience and Technology. This Call for Papers aims at researchers who design, develop and apply advanced methods and techniques of Geoinformatics to a broad range of application domains.

Themes & Application Fields. GI_Forum solicits contributions on emerging topics and research outcomes related to GIScience and Technology. Advanced visualisation and cartography, geospatial data acquisition, advanced spatial analysis and knowledge extraction, distributed and mobile services, SDI, and dynamic modelling and simulation comprise by no means an exhaustive list of conference topics. In addition GI_Forum welcomes submissions addressing the following issues:

  • Learning with Geoinformation 
  • Climate Change and Spatial Vulnerability Assessment  (Monday July 4, lunchtime – Wednesday July 6, lunchtime)

  • Global and Climate Change: Monitoring and Modelling 

Submission: Types & Deadlines. GI_Forum 2011 gives authors choices about the type of submission they want to make in order to accommodate a variety of interdisciplinary contributions. Submissions are expected in English language according to the formatting guidelines published at the conference website.

  • February 1, 2011 deadline for submission of 
    full papers for oral presentation and publication in the conference proceedings; 
    and extended abstracts for discussion sessions
  • June 6, 2011 late deadline for submission of 
    extended abstracts for poster presentation

We will accept online submissions only, starting from December 1, 2010 at www.gi-forum.org/ -> Contribution Registration.
