Thermal spots – probable fire blazes – are detected by satellites in different areas of South and North-Caucasus Federal Districts. Thermal spots are detected using MODIS sensors onboard Terra and Aqua satellites and analyzed based on detailed space images of SPOT 4, received at the Moscow UniScan™ station of ScanEx RDC ИТЦ on March 18-20. The detailed SPOT 4 images show that fires develop at the agricultural lands. Fires are most probably related to agricultural and grass burns. Read More
