European LiDAR Conference on Track for Sell Out

  • Rating12345
In just under three weeks the newly launched European LiDAR Mapping Forum opens its doors in The Hague, Netherlands to an expected 500+ delegates and over 50 exhibiting companies. The demand has been so great that the organizers have had to expand the exhibit area three times and it is now completely sold out.

This two day technical conference with an associated exhibition will focus on the use of airborne, bathymetric and terrestrial LiDAR with a particular focus on mobile mapping to support transport, urban modelling and asset management and GIS applications.
Whilst new to Europe, the organisers are obviously building on a track record of delivering a successful International LiDAR Mapping Forum (ILMF) in the USA for the past ten years.  Initially expecting a smaller version of the well established US event, expectations are now running high with more abstracts submitted than expected, exhibitors now exceeding 50 companies and delegate registrations coming in.
Conference focusing on airborne, bathymetric LIDAR and mobile mapping
The ELMF10 theme is “LiDAR Across The Market Spectrum”, and the conference programme will feature technical presentations by the industry leaders and opinion formers.  With three conference tracks, technical papers will report on actual projects in: airborne use of LiDAR for urban and rural mapping, transport and rail asset management; bathymetric mapping along the coastal zone, and a whole session devoted to technologies and operations in the fast-emerging market sector of mobile mapping.
Mobile mapping and surveying is the driving force behind the next major step-change in the global LiDAR market.  With its benefits of increased speed of data acquisition and onsite processing, Mobile Mapping is enabling a whole range of applications and business opportunities for the LiDAR community.  This exciting addition to the LiDAR conference programme makes ELMF 10 an essential industry event for both data users and service providers.

50 of the world’s leading International LiDAR companies are exhibiting
Alongside there is an associated international exhibition for LIDAR system and component manufacturers, operators and service providers.  ELMF 10 provides an opportunity to meet with the leading suppliers and manufacturers from the Netherlands, Germany, Sweden, UK, Finland, Belgium, Austria, Slovenia, Italy, Lithuania, Switzerland, France, Japan, Canada and the USA.  Visitors that are interested to attend the exhibition only can register for just €25.  http://www.lidarmap.org/ELMF/exhibition/exhibitor_list.aspx
Mobile Mapping Vehicles will be on display
3D laser scanning vehicles are becoming an ever more frequent sight on our streets as the adoption of mobile mapping by local governments, environmental agencies, surveyors and consumer mapping websites increases. ELMF will host a selection of these vehicles for visitors to view, and see demonstrations of scanning equipment in action.   For a full list of vehicles on display visit http://www.lidarmap.org/ELMF/vehicles/
Introductory Workshops focusing on the Basics to LiDAR including Mobile Mapping
In addition to the technical conference, delegates can attend twelve workshops aimed at providing novice operators, their managers and potential purchasers of equipment with an understanding of the basic principles and fundamental benefits and technology associated with LiDAR. http://www.lidarmap.org/ELMF/Basics/
