Esri UK has announced the completion of the UK’s first regional Enterprise License Agreement (ELA) with Hampshire County Council. The ELA will enable other public sector organisations in the county to access the existing ELA, and share the benefits of a central, scalable platform.
Hampshire County Council, has worked with Esri for some years, and recognises that geographic systems (GIS) are amongst the most important technologies for driving public sector efficiency and customer service improvement. GIS increasingly supports direct delivery of electronic services, improved decision making, better resource targeting from better customer insight and real benefits to officers, councillors, and public partners alike in day-to-day activity.
The existing ELA has allowed the County Council to meet changing demands for GI but, by now consolidating GI services county-wide, there will be efficiencies in infrastructure, administration and technology development, as well as improved consistency of and wider access to geographic information. This will support deeper customer insight, with the potential for sharing across local public services and providing the next generation of GIS technologies for service planning and delivery.
