ERDAS APOLLO 2013 Available as Part of Intergraph Geospatial 2013

  • Rating12345

Intergraph announces the release of ERDAS APOLLO 2013 as part of Intergraph Geospatial Portfolio 2013. ERDAS APOLLO 2013 is a comprehensive data management, analysis and delivery system allowing organizations to easily catalog, search, discover, process, and securely disseminate massive volumes of both file-based and web-enabled data.

ERDAS APOLLO 2013 provides powerful new efficiencies in robust data management and broad data dissemination capabilities.  For customers with constantly updating data stores, ERDAS APOLLO now provides the ability to set up a drop box, enabling an organization to immediately catalog and publish incoming data.  With virtual mosaicking, an organization can group datasets together, limit by scale, and portray potentially thousands of datasets as a single virtual mosaic layer. In addition, ERDAS APOLLO 2013 debuts a ready-to-run, integrated web client. The Geospatial Portal provides customers with the same powerful functionality and connectivity to the server that they had before, plus many more useful and standards-compliant features.

“With all of the challenges organizations face with ‘Big Data,’ enhanced geospatial data management solutions are required to find, describe, manage and deliver geospatial data to power smarter decisions” said Mladen Stojic, Vice President – Geospatial, Intergraph.  “ERDAS APOLLO 2013 offers new and dynamic ways for managing large volumes of data in ways that make it truly timely, relevant and actionable.”

ERDAS APOLLO 2013 is available in three product tiers:

·         ERDAS APOLLO Essentials: This image delivery system provides the fastest image delivery possible over the web. It uses a variety of protocols, including the ultra-high-performance ECWP, and is delivered with a preconfigured thin client.

·         ERDAS APOLLO Advantage:  Including all the functionality of ERDAS APOLLO Essentials, this version enables users to catalog and share massive amounts of geospatial and non-spatial data located throughout their enterprise.

·         ERDAS APOLLO Professional:  Offering all the functionality of ERDAS APOLLO Advantage, this version also provides server-side geoprocessing of data from thin clients.

ERDAS APOLLO Essentials can now run on Red Hat Enterprise Linux v5.8 and v6.2+ as well as Windows, and enables watermarking of imagery so that data providers can protect their intellectual property rights for the data.  ERDAS APOLLO Advantage now offers OpenStreetMap in the Data Manager, making it easier to see the global context of data and its location.  This release also provides the ability to monitor incoming data via GeoRSS, so that data analysts can use GeoRSS links to monitor the incoming data for specific points or areas of interest, using the out-of-the-box web client.

In ERDAS APOLLO Professional, the server-side geoprocessing (WPS) feature has integrated the new and improved ERDAS IMAGINE Spatial Modeler, providing as many of the basic building blocks a user might require for finding solutions to their own problems. Also, the growing number of geospatial organizations who are collecting LIDAR data can now enable Clip, Zip and Ship for LAS-formatted point cloud data (in whole or just a subset), enabled through the integrated web client.
