COWI Develops Chinese Eco City

Zhangjiagang is a small city of one million inhabitants, which is not much by Chinese standards. But this particular city, 80 kilometres northwest of Shanghai, may prove essential for COWI’s future activities in China. COWI China has just signed a three-month contract with the Mayor of Zhangjiagang to develop a concept that focuses on sustainability and energy economy. ”We hope that this concept will lead to an agreement for a larger master plan, and in that way become a platform to enable us to take our building activities to China as well,” says Mads Jensen Møller, Managing Director of COWI China.
