COP17 Climate Change and Indigenous Peoples of the Amazon Basin

Yale University and the Inter-American Development Bank are pleased to invite you to the dialogue on the project Climate Change and Indigenous Peoples of the Amazon Basin. The project is funded by the IDB and aims to build the capacity of indigenous leaders and communities to represent themselves in national, regional and international climate change discussions. It will also provide technical assistance to these leaders and communities in order to better prepare them to manage the impacts and potential opportunities of the REDD+ mechanism. While IDB is providing financial and technical support through its Gender and Diversity Division, the Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies have started a research on the topic to provide scientific guidance in the process of implementation in order to improve COICAs capacities.
