The World Information Technology Forum (WITFOR) was initiated by the International Federation for Information Processing (IFIP) and has been organized by IFIP periodically since 2003 in cooperation with several stakeholders in the host country. So far WITFOR has been held in Lithuania, in 2003; in Botswana, in 2005; in Ethiopia in 2007; in Vietnam in 2009 and in India, in 2012. WITFOR brings together senior policy-makers, academics, NGOs and GOs representatives, ICT experts, and the private ICT sector.
WITFOR 2016 intends to bring together members of the ICT community from governments, academia, industry and associations, to discuss recent proposals aimed to reach the sustainable development goals, promoted by the United Nations, to improve global conditions by reducing poverty and hunger; achieving universal education; promoting gender equality; ensuring environmental sustainability; combating diseases and reducing mortality.

Indoor 3D Workshop 19 October, 2016
Indoor 3D Workshop will be organized at 19th October 2016 as a pre–conference workshop session of the 3D GeoInfo 2016. The ISPRS WGIV/7 is organising this workshop to provide a platform for researchers to present and discuss their work in the various aspects of indoor mapping, modeling and analysis. Participation in Indoor 3D Workshop is included in the 3D Geoinfo registration fee.

Since 2011, the annual Copernicus Masters competition awards prizes to outstanding ideas, applications, and business concepts that utilise Earth observation data for commercial purposes and socially relevant projects. Participants can choose from various topic-specific challenges that are awarded by an array of prominent partners. Along with cash prizes, the winners receive technical support in realising their ideas, access to satellite data, and startup support from a prize pool worth a total of more than EUR 300,000. Geared primarily towards startups and other companies, researchers, and students, the competition requires entrants to submit their applications from 15 April to 18 July 2016 at www.copernicus-masters.com.
The European Satellite Navigation Competition (ESNC) annually seeks outstanding services, products, and business innovations that use satellite navigation in everyday life. This year’s prizes are awarded by some of the most relevant institutional GNSS stakeholders: the European Space Agency (ESA), the German Aerospace Center (DLR), the German Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure (BMVI), and the Horizon 2020 project BELS. In addition, more than 20 partner regions from the entire world will host regional challenges. The ESNC 2016 prize pool contains a value of approximately EUR 1 million. Prizes include: cash awards, business incubation, business coaching, patent consulting, technical support, access to testing facilities, prototype development, publicity and marketing support. www.esnc.eu
