British Embassy to Host Laser Scanning Forum in Chile

The British  Embassy in Chile will play host to a showcase of the latest developments and  technical innovations in
laser scanning. Organised through UK Trade and  Investment the free to attend forum will feature demonstrations of the leading  laser scanning monitoring system SiteMonitor as well as the world’s first truly  mobile, hand held,
rapid laser mapping system ZEB1. With support from UK based  3D Laser Mapping and SiteMonitor Systems as well as local surveying specialists  GEOCOM the one day event will take place on the 25th March 2014 in  Santiago.

Mr Carlos Escudero, co-founder of Santiago based GEOCOM  commented, “Surveying, geotechnical measurements and geodesy are thriving  industries in Chile and the recent advancements in laser scanning and monitoring  are of huge interest to the mining, exploration, construction and mapping  communities. This event will provide a marvellous opportunity for anyone with an  interest in laser scanning to get hands on with some of the most advanced  solutions currently on the market.”

Dr Graham Hunter, Executive  Chairman and founder of 3D Laser Mapping added, “With support from UK Trade and  Investment and GEOCOM it has been possible to organise this event bringing the  very latest innovations in laser
scanning to Chile. For the British Embassy to  host such an event is an enormous honour.”

The Laser Scanning Forum  will feature a number of presentations from senior representative of the  participating companies 3D Laser Mapping, SiteMonitor Systems and GEOCOM, system  demonstrations and networking opportunities. The morning sessions will focus on  laser scanning for slope stability monitoring while the afternoon presentations  will showcase new surveying techniques for underground mapping. Delegates are  invited to attend either morning or afternoon sessions or  both.
