Bluesky Appoints Robert Loughran as International Sales Manager

Aerial mapping company Bluesky has appointed Robert Loughran, an experienced geospatial business development executive, to the position of International Sales Manager. Loughran has previously held senior positions with geotechnical survey company Fugro, geospatial product and service company Infoterra and aerial mapping company BKS Surveys. Loughran joins Bluesky at an exciting time as the Leicestershire company looks to expand its global operation maximising on its investment in state of the art aerial survey equipment.

“We have invested in the only fully integrated aerial survey system in the world,” commented Rachel Tidmarsh, Managing Director of Bluesky International, “combining a photogrammetric survey camera, state of the art LiDAR sensor and thermal infra-red imaging system. This makes Bluesky the ideal choice for mapping and modelling projects across Europe.”

Loughran joins Bluesky from Fugro Geospatial Services where he held the position of European Sales Manager. Heading a team of Business Development Managers Loughran was responsible for developing and implementing the company’s sales and marketing strategy across the region, managing existing accounts and developing new business. Loughran also worked for Infoterra (now Astrium Geoservices).

Bluesky’s integrated aerial mapping system, developed by Optech, combines the Orion M300 LiDAR (Light Imaging and Detection), CS-LW640 Long Wave Infrared thermal sensor and a CS-10000 RGB camera. The integrated system offers a range of data capture benefits including industry leading data precision and accuracy, improved interoperability of multiple data types and significant cost savings achieved through the simultaneous capture.
