Blue Marble Releases Global Mapper SDK v14.1 Featuring Significant LiDAR Functionality Enhancements

  • Rating12345

Blue Marble Geographics is pleased to announce the release of Global Mapper SDK version 14.1. This release offers many new and improved features and functions including a significant improvement in the ability to process and visualize massive amounts of LiDAR point cloud data, jumping from supporting files that contain tens of millions of points to those that contain hundreds of millions. Blue Marble’s geospatial data manipulation, visualization and conversion solutions are used worldwide by thousands of GIS analysts at software, oil and gas, mining, civil engineering, surveying, and technology companies, as well as governmental and university organizations.

The Global Mapper SDK provides a Windows DLL which allows you to include much of the functionality of Global Mapper within your own software applications. The SDK includes both native 32-bit and 64-bit DLLs, so users can target any Windows operating system. Global Mapper SDK 14.1 includes new calls for accessing and modifying LiDAR point features within a layer, improved spatial database connectivity, support for CADRG/CIB datasets, a runscript function for running Global Mapper scripts, and newly enhanced watershed functionality that supports generating ridge lines.

“We are pleased to release this major version update for Global Mapper software developers,” stated Blue Marble’s President Patrick Cunningham.  “This SDK update will now let other software developers embed the power of processing significantly large LiDAR point clouds.”
