“Agro-Contro” Geo-Analytic System is Deployed in the Tambov Region

  • Rating12345

The geo-analytic system “AgroUpravlenie” (agro-control) for inventory and monitoring of agricultural lands has started to operate  in the Tambov Region. This was made possible due to a long-term and fruitful partnership between “CentrProgrammSystem” LLC and ScanEx RDC, whose experience in creating highly detailed maps was used in “AgroUpravlenie” geo-analytic system.

With the help of SPOT 5 space satellite ScanEx has carried out high resolution imagery of the entire  Tambov Region in just a few months of 2013. The resulting mosaic of satellite images was used by “CentrProgrammSystem” specialists to create land-use maps covering all the agricultural producers in Tambov Region.

Information about each land-users is stored in the “AgroUpravlenie” system and is used for the inventory of agricultural land. Now that an electronic map of fields has been created for each land user, satellite data can be promptly received to assess the condition of crops, biomass growth dynamics, to define the fields, on which the development of crops goes on at reduced rates, or vice versa ahead of time.

Created across the Tambov Region database for arable lands helps to identify the land plots that are not used currently for agricultural production, to clarify the actual acreage, where each of the agricultural producer operates on.

Now the Information and Consulting Center of the Tambov Region Agro-industrial Complex will be able to provide consulting services to agricultural producers down to each field in order to improve the productivity of Tambov black soils, whereas the database for the inventory and monitoring of agricultural land use will help in the management of agricultural lands to improve the economic efficiency of the regi
