Agritechnica: “Smart Farming” – Rapid Uptake of Advanced Electronics Boosts Farm Efficiency

  • Rating12345

Following several successful Agritechnica editions, the 2011exhibition again features an International Dealer Centre sponsored by the DLG, CLIMMAR (an international partner organisation) and the German association for Dealers (LandBauTechnik-Bundesverband, previously HAG).

The International Dealer Centre aims to be a one-stop-shopproviding authoritative information and advice on the international agricultural machinery trade.
“Here is where staff employed by agricultural machinery dealers and the dealers themselves will find free professional advice and information on a wide range of legal, commercial and management topics” says Gilbert Daverdisse of CLIMMAR, the European farm machinery dealers association.
The International Dealer Centre will be of particular interest to members of the Association of Agricultural Machinery Dealers and Service Workshops, the German association for Dealers and other state federations. All dealers will be able to obtain the latest updates on Manufacturers Service Programmes specifically for the German market. The Branding Association will also have staff on hand to provide advice on brand-specific issues.
Used Machinery Trade Centre
Situated next to the International Dealer Centre, the Used Machinery Trade Centre will serve as an information exchange for used machinery dealers to the benefit of buyers worldwide.
With demand for all types of quality used machinery expected to remain strong in the coming years, the Used Machinery Trade Centre aims to be an important networking platform for dealers that will reflect the demand for specific types of used machinery from various countries and agricultural sectors.
Of the 355,000 visitors to Agritechnica 2009, some 50,000 indicated they were interested in second-hand machinery. With cost pressures in farming continuing to be a major issue the Used Machinery Trade Centre is set to attract even more visitors this year.
Workshop LIVE
Making its debut four years ago, Workshop LIVE is already a well established and popular feature of Agritechnica and has been reproduced at other agricultural trade shows worldwide.
Workshop LIVE will be of special interest to any young person considering a career in the agricultural mechanics profession. Displays will highlight the various specialised skills that are in demand and provide information on available technical training courses and industry recognised qualifications.
“As agricultural machinery becomes ever more complex, highly trained and skilled staff are in great demand to join the agricultural mechanics profession. We aim to recruit talented and motivated young people with the potential to become fully qualified agri-mechanics,” says Ulrich Beckschulte from LandBauTechnik Bundesverband, co-organiser of Workshop LIVE.
Organised in collaboration with the Association of German Agricultural Machinery Dealers and Crafts (LandBauTechnik-Bundesverband, previously HAG), Workshop LIVE features live demonstrations of various important service operations, machinery repairs and specialised conversion work, with German commentary explaining the techniques and equipment required to achieve high quality service standards.
