Customize Area Analysis Applications with the Community Analyst API

  • Rating12345

Esri has released an API for Community Analyst, allowing greater flexibility for developers who need to create customized applications that assess the population characteristics of an area. Esri Community Analyst is a Software as a Service (SaaS) mapping solution that provides GIS capabilities in a simple and easy-to-use framework through a web application, as an add-in for ArcGIS for Desktop, and now as an API for customized development.

With the Community Analyst API, developers can create custom web, mobile, and desktop applications that produce detailed reports using thousands of data variables, including demographic, health, and crime. The API also gives developers more control over what data and specific geographies they want users to view, publicly or internally.

Community Analyst provides detailed information about the demographic composition and lifestyles of neighborhood residents. Reports are provided as presentation-ready PDFs, Microsoft Excel spreadsheets, or XML streams.

A free 30-day Community Analyst API trial is available at esri.com/ca.
