The climate change is one of the main themes of the International Geographical Union Conference

July 20, 2015 — The climate problems and the climatic changes are widely presented in the scientific of the International Geographical Union IGU 2015 Regional Conference which will hold in August, 2015 (www.igu2015.ru) in Moscow. The participants will discuss impact of climatic changes on the political and economic processes, the variability of climate problems in various existential scales, the city agglomerations influence on the regional climate within the section meetings.

Separate sessions will be devoted to management of natural risks accordingly with a climatic factor. The experts will consider the questions of the migration, geopolitics, natural resources using, mountain territories conditions and cryosphere evolution in the climate context changes also.

Salomon Kroonenberg – Professor of the Technological university (Netherlands, Delft) will read the lecture about fluctuations of level of the Caspian Sea in the course of the plenary sessions.

More than 20 years the Dutch scientist cooperates   with geographical faculty of MSU concerning the Caspian Sea studying, and also he repeatedly participated in the appropriate field programs in the Netherlands, France, Spain, China, Indonesia and other countries.

Gordon McBean – Professor of the Western Ontario university, President of the International Council for Science (ICSU), will present the more wider perspective lecture “The solution of the future Earth geography problems”

Besides, the reports prepared by the PEEX frameworks (the Pang-Eurasian Experiment) — the interdisciplinary program of the environment and climate of the Arctic and taiga regions of Northern Eurasia researches will be heard at the Conference.

This project carried out on the period from 2013 to 2033, arose at the Helsinki University and the Finnish Meteorological Institute, Moscow State University, scientific research institute of space monitoring of “Aerokosmos” and a number of institutes of the Russian Academy of Sciences initiatives.

The present day more than hundred organizations of Europe, Russia and China, and also the International institute of the system analysis and the International academy of Sciences of Eurasia are its participants.

Regional conference of the International geographical union “Geography, Culture and Society of Future Earth” will take place in Moscow State University on the August 17-21, 2015, www.igu2015.ru.

More than 2000 people from 80 countries of the world plan to visit this Conference.
