Trimble Introduces Private Land Ownership, Large-Format Printed Maps

  • Rating12345

Trimble introduced today a new premium map layer that adds private land ownership, Assessor’s Parcel Number (APN) and parcel boundaries on topographic and satellite maps from MyTopo. The layer option is available via MyTopo’s popular print-on-demand Website mytopo.com . Private land ownership maps are used by professionals involved in real estate, land use planning, agriculture and energy projects, county/local governments, non-profits and foundations as well as recreational map users such as hunters and hikers.

“Before today, private ownership maps were difficult to obtain, often involving a trip to the local tax office and working with a GIS professional,” said Kevin Toohill, general manager of MyTopo. “We have made it easy to access publicly available private land data, add the information to a topo or aerial map, and order a print for next day delivery right to your doorstep.”

Private land maps start at $29.95 for an 18 x 24 inch custom-centered, waterproof topographic map and more than $300 for a 5 x 8 foot banner-sized satellite image map with the private land ownership layer. The private land data is available for approximately 80 percent of the U.S., including in all 50 states, and will be updated quarterly. The layer can be added to USGS topographic maps, USDA aerial imagery and US-based satellite maps.

Parcel boundaries are included for properties, no matter how small. Owner names or APNs are printed on all parcels of thirty or more acres on the topographic base map. On aerial/satellite image maps, the owner name or APNs are included on parcels as small as .25 acres, which accommodates subdivisions and well-developed areas.

MyTopo’s new layer makes private ownership maps more affordable and easy to custom design following MyTopo’s five-step online map ordering process. Customers can search for a property by address or GPS coordinate. Private ownership maps ship within MyTopo’s 24-hour print and ship deadline for quick delivery to customers’ mailboxes, with overnight delivery available for maps ordered before 2 p.m. MT. The maps increase in price based on the map size, paper type and base map options. To order a topo or aerial printed map enhanced with private land details, go to mytopo.com.

MyTopo also provides private land ownership data on SD Cards for smart phones. The SD Cards are packaged with topographic maps and private land ownership details. The SD Cards sell for $99-$119 direct from MyTopo.com, TrimbleOutdoors.com, GPSHuntFish.com, and at outdoor specialty retail stores.
