Announcing Williamson Chong Architects

  • Rating12345

We are proud to announce that on August 15th we officially became Williamson Chong Architects. The merger of Donald Chong Studio Incorporated and WILLIAMSONWILLIAMSON INC. has been in the works for a while now and we couldn’t be happier to finally share the news. We are long-time friends and colleagues. Don and Betsy met and worked together at Shim-Sutcliffe when we were intern architects in 1999, and years later our families bonded over long canoe trips in Algonquin Park.

Our new partnership began in March with a charrette for the Edmonton Park Pavilion Competition. The collaboration confirmed that our skills and ambitions were truly complimentary. We received a citation award for Aspen Overpass: A Skating Pavilion for Victoria Park and took it as a sign of good things to come!

We look forward to sharing our new projects with you in the coming year, including a new installation in a group exhibition coming up this fall. STITCHES: Suzhou Fast Forward, curated by Larry Richards and Dr. Michael Prokopow, will open on Thursday, October 21st at WORKshop, 80 Bloor Street West, Suite C1. We hope you will join us there.

For now, please check out our new website www.williamsonchong.com and take a look at today’s Globe and Mail for a feature of the House in Frogs Hollow written by John Bentley Mays. Read More
