  • Rating12345

The National Geographic Institute ( IGN ) goes on sale to the public interest, the publication of the book”Argentina 500k” , a work that shows the scale 1:500.000 Argentine territory, both on satellite images as topographic line plus its corresponding display on DVD. It is a work done in record time by the staff of IGN and the National Commission on Space Activities ( CONAE ). Is a demonstration that you can achieve amazing product when public organizations, join with a common goal.

With Argentina 500K can experience the vastness and diversity of the entire national territory, the extent of its fertile land, the extent of their arid areas and the formation of its urban areas. The book aims to arouse curiosity in all the geographical knowledge of our country, from the specialist to the student, from the tourist to the general public.

It can be seen in each of your pages, always on the same scale, the satellite image and its correlation with topographic map. This allows you to check both the wealth of an image captured by a satellite and its representation in a traditional map production. Argentina 500K has the distinction of being drawn up in loose-leaf, offering the advantages of replacing the leaves for their updates and to compare different areas each , assessing common areas or adjoining. The book is meant as a sort of “puzzle” to piece together a patchwork of letters or images that make up the Argentine territory.
