Kumaraguru College Of Engineering Wins Designace 2010, The Numero Uno in Engineering Design Contests

The second edition of ‘Design ACE- 2010’, PAN South India Engineering Design Contest conducted by Barry-Wehmiller International Resources (BWIR), in partnership with Autodesk Inc. concluded on 19th September in Chennai. The event saw the best usage of the 3D modeling software Autodesk Inventor through various innovative designs by students. Students had free access to Autodesk Inventor through the Autodesk student community (www.autodesk.com/ edcommunity). Ace designer Mr. Dilip Chabria from DC Design presided over the function.

The finalists presented solutions to the real time engineering problems that were presented to them. The presentations were carefully judged for the innovation and accuracy by a panel of well renowned judges which included Mr. Mike Christmas, Director – Engineering, Reynold PLC, UK, Dr. P. V Mohanram, Head of Mechanical engineering, P.S.G Technology, Coimbatore and Mr. George Abraham, Senior Manager, Education Program, Autodesk Asia.

Mr. Dilip Chhabria also inspired students with his lecture on the “Power of Design” during the event which served as a motivation to hundreds of students aspiring to make engineering design as a career. Read More
