A meeting on the issues of space technology extended introduction into the work of the MSU’s Department of Geography was held on March 23 in the special computer class (room 19-19 of the Main building of MSU). Starting in December 2010, and first of all at the Departments of Geography, Geology, Biology and Soil, the geoportal with operational content and a complex of training and space imagery data processing has been introduced at the Moscow State University.  Currently based on the Meteo Lab of the MSU the UniScan firmware complex for satellite data reception and processing is installed. This UniScan complex ensures the direct reception of data from optical and radar satellites, such as Terra/Aqua, SPOT 4, FORMOSAT-2, RADARSAT-1. The images received from these satellites can be used not only for science and education, but for commercial solutions as well. Read More
