  • Rating12345

Bing Spatial Data Services, a next generation spatial search offering added to the Bing API. This new service offers the benefits of cloud hosting and distributed computing, allowing customers to upload their data to Microsoft’s servers and perform spatial queries under the umbrella of their existing Bing Maps License. The blog here provides further information. In addition, Bing Maps has also recently introduced access to a new experimental service called Microsoft Road Detect that automatically derives street vector data from Bing aerial imagery. Using Microsoft’s Windows Azure Cloud platform to run code, Road Detect is an image-based road tracing service which derives the position and curves of a road by specifying the end points. Details may be found here on the blog along with a video and a link to the more technical information.
