HERO, Multi-robot Marine Missions

DCNS is one of the only companies to offer an expert service robotic structures using a multi-mode robot capable of swimming to reach the structure and then roll on the surface to be inspected. This system allows to appraise a wide variety of structures (ship hulls, offshore platforms, docks, dams …). With this multi-robot missions, DCNS teams are able to respond without resorting to intervention by divers. HERO has cameras, sensor thickness measurement, a positioning system, sonar, and a cleaning system. Furthermore, DCN Toulon has teams trained in the implementation of HERO (control, maintenance, thickness measurement, scuba diving, expertise) as well as dedicated resources (specific workshop, organization, facilities associated …). DCNS already has other innovative tools (mini ROV / robot / magnetic helmets video communication) and has made this year a number of expert underwater (Marine Nationale, Groupe Bourbon, SNCM, SBM …).
