Autodesk Leads $6M Funding Round for Construction Software Startup

Burlington, Mass.-based Vela Systems raised the funds from Autodesk and series A investors Commonwealth Capital Ventures, GrandBanks Capital and private individuals. Vela launched in 2005 to create software building information modeling, or BIM, to the job site. A year ago Autodesk announced a collaboration with Vela last year to integrate the software with Autodesk’s Navisworks Manage application so that measurements taken in the field are incorporated into the computer model.
