New Permanent GPS Station In Argentina

The Provincial Water Administration (APA) in the province of Chaco installed the second GPS station, donated by the National Geographic Institute (IGN) in coordination with the Provincial Directorate of Land Registry and Mapping (DPCyC). The system will involve a major technological update knowledge about the area and assist the professional development of surveyors, engineers, physicists and geographers.

On Wednesday December 22 the governor of the province, Jorge Capitanich , participated in the inauguration of the new GPS station is at the heart of structural investments made in the flood defense system. The governor stressed the importance of technology transfer for the entire system of management and wise use of water in the province.
The new station will be added to the first, which is installed in Avia Terai since 2009. The incorporation of the new station will transcend provincial borders because it will integrate the Network Argentina Satellite Monitoring Continuous (RAMSAC). RAMSAC is administered by the National Geographic Institute and is a national geodetic reference frame used by the provinces, municipalities, e-cadastre, public, private and home users. Read More
