Sûreté du Québec’s Search and Rescue Application Wins ESRI Canada’s Award of Excellence in GIS

ESRI Canada today presented the Sûreté du Québec with an Award of Excellence for enhancing search and rescue operations using ESRI’s geographic information system (GIS) technology.  The organization’s Emergency Management team provides emergency services for the entire Québéc region. They direct and coordinate search and rescue operations of the Safety units and municipal police forces in Québec, as well as other emergency management organizations.  Through the Sûreté’s Geomatics Division, they have developed an offline mobile GIS application that has significantly enhanced efforts in finding missing persons.
