MapShark Bites Again…

  • Rating12345

CloverPoint and NEPTUNE CANADA have teamed up to create an emergency response system using the Free Flex MapShark framework. NEPTUNE had a variety of ArcGIS services set up for responding to fishermen calls when gear got stuck. The purpose of the tool was to provide decision support for snagged nets and lines. It is the responsibility of the NEPTUNE team to make the call whether to cut or pull the lines depending on proximity to the underwater cables, but the old tool was not only too slow to be really effective over sketchy satellite phones, but lacked key features. CloverPoint developed a few custom Flex tools and configured a NEPTUNE MapShark application that is faster and flashier than ever.
