Spatial Energy Announces Plans to Distribute Bing Maps Through IHS Applications

Spatial Energy, the leading source for digital imagery and services for the energy industry, and IHS, a business information and analytics provider, today announced a subscription agreement to provide online access to Microsoft Corp.’s Bing Maps through IHS products. Bing Maps is a worldwide collection of current content and data types, such as street maps, satellite images, Bird’s eye view aerial photos, Streetside panoramic imagery, 3D maps and GeoCoding. Bing Maps is delivered through Spatial Energy’s Spatial on Demand® platform as a web service and will be integrated within IHS applications as native Bing Map Services and as a Web Mapping Service. Spatial on Demand is an enterprise online platform used to store, access, query, and retrieve a company’s corporate geospatial data, as well as other energy-specific datasets including Bing Maps.
