One Wales – One Voice: Aligned Assets Announce Welsh Gazetteer Best Practice Day

Following on from the success of previous events, gazetteer specialists Aligned Assets can today announce the next date in its popular series of Gazetteer Best Practice Days.   Specifically for the Welsh Gazetteer community, this best practice day will be held at the Media Resource Centre in Llandrindod on 2nd November 2010 and will see presentations from local authorities, the emergency services and the Welsh Assembly Government.   Departing slightly from the structure of former events, One Wales – One Voice will see more opportunity for discussion and debate, and through this an opportunity to have a say on the future of addressing throughout Wales.   Wales has unique requirements when it comes to address management, going from the large metropolitan areas such as Cardiff and Swansea, through to the vast mountainous expanses covered by the County of Powys.  This uniqueness not only affects the creation of address data, but has large repercussions for those relying on the data such as the police, fire and ambulance services.
