Optech Announces New Real-Time Point Cloud Interface for Lynx Mobile Mapper

  • Rating12345

Optech Incorporated, the world’s leading manufacturer of advanced lidar and camera survey instruments, is pleased to announce the Real-Time Point Cloud (RTPC) interface, a new feature delivered with the Lynx Mobile Mapper M1.

During data collection, RTPC displays real-time 3D point cloud XYZi data. The point cloud display can be rotated and fixed for the viewing perspective, zoomed, and adjusted for the intensity scaling range.

While the vehicle is moving, data is streamed to the operator interface and logged to the removable solid state hard drive.

“Our Lynx Mobile Mapper clients gave us the requirement for an on-the-fly tool to see the swath in which they were collecting data. RTPC will do that immediately and visually. It operates at all repetition rates and is standard for our M1—the latest generation in Mobile Mapper systems,” commented Daina Morgan, Product Manager, Lynx Mobile Mapper.

RTPC is the latest addition to the Lynx Mobile Mapper’s feature set, which includes the highest capture rate in the industry as well as flexible image capture rates. It consolidates Lynx’s position at the forefront of the highly dynamic and scalable mobile mapping market.
