1Spatial to Present at GIS Ireland 2012

  • Rating12345

1Spatial is delighted to announce that they will be presenting at this year’s GIS Ireland 2012 event on 11th October in Dublin. GIS Ireland is the largest one day independent Irish GI conference held each year. Attendees will hear about the latest cutting edge technology and developments in the industry, as well as how to maximise investment in GI, from leading industry experts. The event also provides excellent peer networking opportunities.

Seamus Gilroy of 1Spatial will be presenting in the morning around the recent PRIME2 project for Ordnance Survey Ireland. PRIME2 will provide a rich spatial data framework that will open new and exciting opportunities for spatially aware business solutions. The presentation will look briefly at the background and purpose of the project, before moving on to the approaches and processes involved and then the opportunities that PRIME2 offers.

In the afternoon Local Government Track, Chris Tagg of 1Spatial will be presenting with Barry Doyle from Roscommon County Council. The joint session will outline Roscommon’s recent project to update their Road Schedule database within the MapRoad Road Management System. The presentation will look at the work the council undertook to validate, correct and align their MapRoad data using 1Spatial’s Cloud platform.

Barry Doyle, GIS Officer, Roscommon County Council said:

“It has been both interesting and rewarding to work closely with 1Spatial over the past 12 months in the definition and implementation of the MapRoad data validation and auto correction service, and break new ground in how data services can be made available to organisations such as Local Authorities. I look forward to being able to present what we have achieved to date at GIS Ireland 2012.”

Seamus Gilroy, Country Manager, 1Spatial Ireland said:

“GIS Ireland is that one occasion during the year when we all get a chance to find out what is happening in our industry in Ireland. I always get a lot from the day and I am delighted this year to have the opportunity to contribute to the event with this presentation on our work with OSi in the delivery of PRIME2.”
