WWEM 2016 Hosts Chromatography Mass Spectrometry Event

  • Rating12345

On day one (2nd November) of WWEM 2016, EFASIG, a special interest group within the British Mass Spectrometry Society (Environmental and Food Analysis SIG), will hold a meeting that will be free to attend for those that have pre-registered to visit WWEM 2016 at www.WWEM.uk.com.

The keynote presentation with be given by Professor Luigi Mondello from the University of Messina in Italy. Prof. Mondello is the author of around 400 publications and his research interests include high-resolution chromatography techniques (HRGC, HPLC, HRGC-MS, HPLC-MS, OPLC) and the development of hyphenated (LC-GC-MS, GC-GC) and multidimensional ‘comprehensive’ (GC×GC, LC×LC) techniques and their application in the study of natural complex matrices.

The presentations will focus on the analysis of water and wastewater, but will include the analysis of liquid, liquid/solid mixtures and air samples. With speakers from academia, commercial laboratories and manufacturers, the morning session will address aspects of comprehensive Chromatography Mass Spectrometry, and the afternoon session will address the application of these techniques to water and environmental matrices.

Summarising, EFASIG Leader Dr Peter Baugh says: “We have managed to assemble a group of eminent and highly respected speakers, so these presentations will be of great value to anyone involved in environmental analysis.”
