Herndon, Virginia Oct. – The United States Geospatial Intelligence Foundation (USGIF) has launched the EdGEOcation Giving Campaign to raise money and awareness for USGIF’s educational programs. The Foundation has set the goal to raise $5,000 by Dec. 31.
USGIF’s educational activities include awarding scholarships to students studying geospatial sciences, providing academic certificates to students who graduate from one of USGIF’s 14 accredited colleges and universities, delivering STEM materials to K-12 classrooms, administering professional certifications, and much more. Campaign contributions will help further the education of our nation’s leaders.
Donations can be made through AmazonSmile, PayPal, direct contributions, or through the Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) where USGIF is a member of the CFC National Capital Area (CFCNCA).
USGIF will participate in various CFC events this fall: Defense Intelligence Agency, Nov. 7; Central Intelligence Agency, Nov. 17; and National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency, Dec. 14.
“Education for geospatial intelligence is the very mission USGIF was founded upon,” said USGIF COO Aimee McGranahan. “We not only educate the professional workforce through our events, but also provide educational programming for college and K-12 students to gain interest and help them find a career in the GEOINT field. All proceeds gained from the EdGEOcation Giving Campaign will go directly to these educational programs to support our future GEOINT leaders.”
