  • Rating12345

URISA is pleased to announce a variety of activities taking place during the Esri International User Conference in San Diego, July 8-12, 2013. GIS professionals are invited to visit the URISA booth (#519) to learn more about URISA membership, professional development opportunities, educational programs and publications. Enter to win one of three free registrations to GIS-Pro 2013 in Providence, Rhode Island this September. Several URISA members and leaders will participate in the GIS Managers’ Open Summit taking place on Tuesday, July 9, (8:00 AM – 4:30 PM in Room 20B/C).

Watch URISA’s tweets (@URISA) from the conference (#EsriUC) and be sure to check in at the URISA booth on Foursquare for additional prizes.

URISA’s GISCorps will again be a participant in the Map Gallery’s Special Exhibit on Monday evening (July 8). Stop by the display in the Sail Area and learn more about GISCorps’ missions and meet members of the Core Committee and volunteers. On Wednesday, July 10, attend the URISA GISCorps presentation (5:30 to 7:00 PM in Room 5B). Core Committee members and several volunteers will give presentations on 2012-2013 activities.

2013 is a special year for GISCorps as it celebrates 10 years as a successful URISA program.  Since 2003, GISCorps has launched an average of 12 projects per year and volunteers have contributed over 1,200 hours per year towards those projects. To find out how you can get involved— as a volunteer, donor or partner agency— visit www.giscorps.org or email info@giscorps.org.
