Hallowell, Maine, May 6, 2015 — Blue Marble Geographics (bluemarblegeo.com), today announced that the U.S. Department of the Interior (DOI) has selected Global Mapper enterprise license, providing advanced LiDAR processing capabilities for multiple DOI agencies.

Blue Marble’s geospatial data manipulation, visualization and conversion solutions are used worldwide by thousands of GIS analysts at software, oil and gas, mining, civil engineering, surveying, and technology companies, as well as governmental and university organizations.

Global Mapper is an affordable, powerful, and easy-to-use GIS application capable of displaying, converting, and analyzing virtually any type of geospatial data. The latest release includes a variety of updates to both the Global Mapper base product and the optional LiDAR Module. One of the most significant enhancements is a new video playback tool that allows users to play a video derived from the flight of an aircraft or UAV.  The playback option displays a video file synced to any line feature with per-vertex times, fly-through lines or point features with recognized timestamp attributes.

“Using a variety of license models, the Global Mapper Enterprise License enables any organization to access Global Mapper from any machine, whether they prefer a server license, USB dongle or single machine license”, states Kris Berglund, Vice-President of Sales at Blue Marble Geographics.  “Perhaps more importantly an organization can make available advanced GIS functionality with Global Mapper on a large scale, at a tenth of the cost of other solutions.”

Global Mapper supports the display of over 250 unique geospatial data file formats.  Global Mapper also provides 3D analysis and editing, fly-through animation & recording, LiDAR point cloud gridding and classification, and much more.  For a complete list of new features and enhancements visit http://www.bluemarblegeo.com/products/global-mapper.php or download Global Mapper v16 today!
