Two GIS-Pro Workshops Approved for AICP CM Credit

  • Rating12345

URISA is pleased to announce that two of its Certified Workshops being presented on November 1, 2011 during GIS-Pro 2011 in Indianapolis have each been approved by the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) for Certification Maintenance credit.

Attendance at the Strategic Planning for GIS Program Development and Management or Public Data, Public Access, Privacy and Security: US Law and Policy workshop will earn AICP members 8 credits.
A central principle of AICP membership is the importance of remaining current in the practice of planning and demonstrating professional credibility through continuing education. AICP’s Certification Maintenance program is a direct result of that principle. It links professional planners to training opportunities that will keep them up to date on the latest trends, technologies, and best practices. It also strengthens the value of certification, demonstrating an ongoing commitment to excellence to elected officials, community leaders, and employers. For details about the AICP Certification Maintenance Program, visit http://www.planning.org/cm/index.htm

These URISA workshops were recently reviewed by the AICP and approved for CM credit. AICP members are invited to attend GIS-Pro 2011: URISA’s 49th Annual Conference for GIS Professionals, taking place November 1-4, 2011 in Indianapolis. Attendance at a workshop is included in the full conference registration fee. Individuals may also register to attend only a workshop at the URISA member fee of $195 (nonmember fee of $245).
