June 3, 2015 — Have you ever tried to transform your traditional static map into a living, dynamic map with time dimension? This October, Supergeo is going to formally launch SuperGIS Desktop 10.
There will be not only a friendlier and modern interface, but various new spatial analyses and data processing tools. One of these cool new stuffs is the Time Series, which allows you to import layers with time dimension into SuperGIS Desktop 10, and display the features at specific times or periods. It turns the abstract spatial-temporal information into vivid visualizations, enhancing data interpolations and communications, thus helps decision makers to be well-informed.
Taking the super typhoon Haiyan as an example, through the use of Time Series, users can quickly understand the residence time of typhoon Haiyan and its impact areas at different time stamps. The Time Series gives our users high flexibilities to display the time information. For example, the time scale can be adjusted from days to decades, or even centuries to meet users’ needs. Additionally, users can use Time Series to compare some periodical geographic phenomenon. Take typhoon as an example again, they form in every summer and fall with different paths and intensities based on different atmospheric conditions. By displaying all the typhoons at the same time, users can make comparisons of typhoons in different years.
Supergeo has long been making efforts on providing innovative GIS technologies to the world. On June 17th, 11 o’clock a.m. (New York Time), We will held a worldwide webinar introducing how to apply GIS technologies to industrial hazard management, including recognizing industrial hazard high-risk areas, using analyses to review distributions of disaster-proof resources, and design online hazard maps to build up the public consciousness of disaster prevention. Reserve a seat today for the webinar!
