During the Annual General Meeting, Dr. Zaffar Sadiq Mohamed-Ghouse was reelected as President of SSSI Australia for 2019-2020, stepping into the role for the second term after a successful tenure in 2018-2019. Michael Grear was appointed as a new Director from South Australia, Dr Lesley Arnold from Western Australia and Nick Brown elected to fill a casual vacancy in Australian Capital Territory. Continuing Board members are Richard Syme from Victoria, Lee Hellen from Queensland, Rob Sarib from the Northern Territory Wayne Patterson from New South Sales, Paul Digney from Tasmania and Roshni Sharma as Young Professionals Observer.

Dr Zaffar Sadiq Mohamed-Ghouse thanked the outgoing Directors of the 018-19 Board: Franco Rea from a South Australia, Kerry Smyth from Western and Richard Cullen of the Hydrography Commission. Congratulating Board Members on their new positions, SSSI COO, Anna Palathinkal also thanked outgoing members for their service to the Board.
